<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Congratulations to <a href="http://www2.mixposure.com/Farrell_Jackson/">Farrell Jackson</a> and Buddrumming for having Mixposure's Song of the Week! Farrell and Buddrumming have been staples on Mixposure for some time and this is just a great tune. Check out the song below.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Bio:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Been learning and playing the guitar since I was a youngster. My training came from the countless hours I spent listening to those big black vinyl discs. Played in a few bands along the way and still play out solo now and then. Like many mid 60's era musicians, I would have to say my influences are the likes of: The Beatles, The Animals, The Stones, Cream, The Allman Bros., Steppenwolf, and CSNY are probably my biggest influences. I love great sounding acoustic guitars, mixed with tasteful electrics, melodic vocals, and harmonies thrown in. Equipment used: A couple of acoustics, some electrics, a couple of basses, some harmonicas, several amps, and my voice. I record to a Fostex VF160 DAW ( with several outboard pieces attached ) at my place, Jaxonville Studio. My music is acoustic rock guitar based but there are a lot of electric guitars in and about. Most all my songs begin life on the acoustic and grow from there. Music has been a very enjoyable part of my life and has allowed some very satisfying and personal expressions to come forward. Since we have done these in the past, let's keep the rules the same. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">1. 350 Song Reviews Minimum (that is just over 10 a day!)</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">2. "Cool Song", "Liked It" are not song reviews. Give it some substance! <p><span style="font-size: medium;">Just wanted to let everyone know we tossed up a few new skin colors that you can now use. The first thing I wanted to mention is that please remember, when you change the layout it may take a second to load while it builds the cache files. You will find that going back to the pages you have visited will load quickly.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">On the top right of the main Mixposure Page you will see a drop down menu with a few choices. Obviously we left the dark as the default! Right now we have only set this up to change the main site and not the artist pages. We may set those up later but right now, it seems like everyone is content because they can customize it.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">So take a look and let us know if you see any issues!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Dazed</span></p><p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Hey Everyone! You may have noticed that since we are not changing over to a new skin, I have been making some changes to the existing skin. As you can imagine, it is difficult to check every page on here so if you see something that is off, please let me know! </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Once we get comfortable with how this looks, I will make an additional skin in a different color that is a bit lighter. <p>Well as you can see, we are back to where we started. After playing with the new layout for the last 3 weeks I have come to a couple of conclusions.</p><p>1. The current layout basically works! Maybe I am just tired of seeing it after 4 years of the same view/colors etc. It runs fast and let's face it, we all know where evrything is at. Gradual changes here are easier than multiple changes over night.</p><p>2. The new layout has more bells and whistles and truthfully was coming along nicely. The real fact of the matter is that it ran slower and had many defects which required developer intervention. The developer did a great job but the software corrections were not coming as quick as I would like. That put Mixposure in a bad position asking our members to deal with substandard surroundings.</p><p>For now I am going to keep it as is. Maybe a better idea would be to incorporate some of the new with the old vs the other way around. I would however like to change the colors of the main site. Since the artist pages are highly customizable, there is no reason to change those. I liked the Blue/Black combo of the new skin to be honest. It looked amazing on my laptop and my iMac. <p>I never grow tired of listen to Nigel Potter's vocals. There is a uniqueness to them that just makes every song special. Nigel is a musicians musician with a history that is truly remarkable. Add in David C. Deal to this tune and you have nothing short of greatness.
