The detail on the images is pretty sharp. If you click the images a few times you will see what I mean.

I was thinking since it is finally calming down here a bit on my end that maybe it is time for a new Site Song? Maybe a Same Song Title Madness? For those of you who have never done one what we do is start a forum thread and allow a week or so for people to add song titles. Then we do a poll and vote on a winning song. Everyone will then have 4 weeks to create a song using the winning song title. Vocals are not mandatory but obviously help sell the song a little better. On the "due date" we will also play all songs on MixStream Radio.

Anyone up for this??

Wow what a relief. I forgot what standing up for 10 hours was like lol. I had a great time and met some incredible people. One thing is for sure, musicians definitely walk to the beat of a different drummer.

It was great to be working with Frank from Stratage Guitars and talking music with him and his son Jeff. He is also fine musician and has a page on Mixposure as well. Not to mention how cool it was that their wives made the trip out to Dallas.

I finally had the chance to play a Stratage Guitar and was immediately impressed. We shot a video explaining the guitar that I hope will be posted soon. I also walked the entire Dallas Guitar Festival on Saturday morning about 2 hours before the event started and shot video of almost every booth. The bad news is it was nearly a 4gb video in high definition. So I am converting it down and will get it posted tomorrow most likely.

A few thanks are in order!! I need to thank WildCherry for pushing me to do this show. You were right. I had a great time. Also a big thanks to Gary Hart for his artwork on the vinyl Mixposure Banner for the show. We had business cards printed with the design that WildHoneyPie created with a little help from one of Blake's images. Bilbozo and Buddrumming own a printing company and I had them make a bunch of them for the show. All of you did a fantastic job and were such a big help in getting this off the ground. Finally a huge thanks to Frank from Stratage Guitars and his family for all the work that went into the show!

If you were at the show and are visiting Mixposure for the first time, welcome to the site! Please let us know if you have any questions!

Dazed

It took me about 5 days but I finally got my Canon Camcorder able to stream live video. Most new camcorders are not able to stream so you have to use a variety of software and hardware to do this. After testing two hardware pieces and returning those to the store, I picked up one that worked after using a third party software.

So what this means is we will be streaming live from the Dallas Guitar Festival. Unfortunately I can't really walk around the building while recording so the stream will come from inside the booth Stratage Guitars and I are using. Will it be rip roaring excitement? That remains to be seen but you will get a chance to see what the show is like and also see the Stratage Guitars in action. Not to mention we may get to interview some of the musicians walking around.

I will post some schedules tomorrow of what we think we will be doing. The only concern I have is that I am not sure how great our connection will be there. Test streams were pretty good but that was using my internet connection. If the speed is slow there, we may have some choppy video!! Let's hope that does not happen!

We had a lot of requests for these so we will see how it pans out. Our apologies for the price right off the bat. We only ordered 12 so we did not receive much of a discount and we are actually taking a loss on these. The quantities and sizes are extremely limited obviously so our apologies if we sell out of a size and do not get it removed from the page fast enough and have to cancel an order. However if we sell these quickly, we will order some more.

Right now we have all shirts for USA only. The simple reason is the shipping charges. If you are not in the USA and would like one, please contact us and we will check the shipping charges to your country. Shipping to the USA is included.

About the shirts - 100% Peruvian pima cotton in Black. 3-button placket with Dura-pearl buttons; additional yarn in collar and cuffs for a neater appearance and durability; split tail; stretch tape in shoulders for extra strength.

They are a very nice shirts. We could have picked up cheap shirts and made a profit but we all agreed we wanted shirts that would last and looked nice. We will try and get some better pictures posted tomorrow.

You can find the shirts here!

Jim's Artificial Earth has just posted his interview with Incarnate Word!
On your Artist Page you will now see a Facebook Link on the left side menu. This is a pretty cool little application to add the music you have on Mixposure to your Facebook Page. Your fans or anyone from Facebook can also add it to their pages.

Click the link and it will either prompt for a login if you are not already logged in. From there follow the instructions. It is pretty easy actually. Let me know if you run into any issues. There are a few bugs that need to be sorted out. A scroll bar is needed for artists with many songs. It currently cuts off at 7 or so. I would also like the sort order to be changed so it shows the newest at the top. Please let me know what issues you see.

If something does not work, please try it again in a couple of minutes. FaceBook's api can be a bit squirrelly to be honest.

Thanks!

A big congrats to Ked aka The Polar Bear! Ked has been working on a lot of music lately and has just taken the checkered flag! As many of you know, Ked is a big Race Fan and a lot of his songs have a racing theme. Ked is now being featured with Allard Chrysler Action Group! For those of you who are not familiar with this, it happens to be the group that is Restoring Europe’s oldest dragster - the 1961 Allard Chrysler.

The below is from the website and it discusses the new tune Ally Blue . You will notice that Nick Mason was also involved. Yes that is the same Nick Mason from Pink Floyd. Please take a moment and read this incredible article. Way to go Ked and thanks for being a part of Mixposure!

Sam Eidy of Michigan engine builder Booth Arons has been a complete Ally project addict since his company first became involved in the restoration of Europe’s oldest dragster - the 1961 Allard Chrysler built by Sydney Allard. Shortly after Booth Arons was appointed the official engine builders for the project, and between locating and chasing down parts suppliers, Sam found himself doodling out some lyrics about the car to the tune of ‘Alley Oop’. Although originally written for a comic strip of the same name by Dallas Frazier who recorded it in 1957, the ‘Alley Oop’ version by the Hollywood Argyles in 1960 is probably the most well known because it made Number 1 in the Billboard Hot 100. But it has also been recorded by other artists such as the Beach Boys and George Thorougood and is familiar to most rock music fans of a ‘certain age’.

Sam e-mailed his new lyrics to others involved with the restoration to get comments, and Project 1320 Chairman Traci Hrudka (Co-Patron of the Allard Chrysler Action Group) sent them on to her guitar playing friend Ked (the Polar Bear) Dieter in Canada whose song Thunder in the Distance by KED and Big Blue Hammer was (and still is) being used on the Project 1320 website. Ked is also Vice President of Mixposure’s MixStreamRadio.

A rocker through and through, he normally plays a 95 Gibson LesPaul guitar. But an avid ‘guitar hot-rodder’, and a pro level luthier and guitar technician, he has another ten guitars in his collection, including a unique replica of a Gibson Flying V solid guitar.

Being a drag racing and stock car fan he was immediately hooked by the restoration project and Sam’s lyrics. He made contact with Sam and they set about re-working the lyrics, melody and arrangement so there would be no copyright infringements, and laid down a new version of the song that featured Ked’s rocking guitar and vocals plus a Beach Boy styled harmony by Mack Sanders. Ked produced the work and played all the other instruments.

This was e-mailed around interested parties (including ACAG Co-Patron Nick Mason) who added their own suggestions about the arrangement and mix, resulting in the final version including sounds of the Allard Chrysler recorded in 1964 at Blackbushe in England, plus the voices of Gerry Belton, Sydney Allard and Tommy Ivo recorded at the same meeting. Hence Ally Blue; a unique piece of music about Ally that can be used by the ACAG for promotional purposes to help raise funds.

It currently features on the 'About ACAG' page of this website and will be used in electronic press release activity. Not only that, it is now available as a download direct via www.kedrecords.com. A Pay Pal facility is available and half the download fee of 99 cents (US) goes to the Allard Chrysler dragster restoration fund. The song’s lyrics are also laid out in detail.

At the moment Ked is re-painting his replica Flying V in Allard Chrysler colours, as an extra tribute to Sydney Allard and his important role in spreading drag racing across the Atlantic.
