You will feel like part of the family in no time. You mentioned wanting to collaborate and I think you have come to the right place, Mix is known for it's community collaborating for over 10 years.
I would try to get familiar with artists music through their pages and the radio shows. If you are using a computer; at the top of the page is a Music tab, it has a drop down menu and I would begin with new music. Learn who's style and sound that you think is a match and then notify them and network. Our mutual friend Yonne is brilliant at this networking thing. I always hold her up as a model of how to promote your music and how to network.
