DrC - Songwriting, all those fabulous keys, drums programing, and arrangement.
Gary Carciello - Terrific electric guitar harmonics and solo.
Rob Grant - Excellent Bass guitar and not "A" typical for a ballad.
Farrell Jackson - Song lyric and melody, acoustic guitar, and all vocals.

This is something different from us. It may be a mellow ballad but still very much rock and it harbors some fine musical performances.

When DrC first presented this song idea and chord structure to me, it was beautiful and I fell in love with the sound, so I jumped at the opportunity to be involved!
I always find collaborations with GCDC&J interesting by the way they build and how the final version always surprises. DrC is the man! He makes it transition from the idea stage into a full blown song.

The lyric is about how.....as life progresses and becomes more complicated, the innocence of things like first loves, new experiences, and the little pleasures of life tend to be lost, diminished, or over shadowed by all the bad in the world today. And, it becomes more and more difficult to identify the small things that keep us sane as human beings with the media constantly exploiting the ugly. Thus the feeling of.......Gone Is Innocence.

As always, it's a pleasure working with these fine, creative musicians, who are at the top of their game and I'm honored to be included in their collabs!

BTW, if anyone is wondering what that beautiful and haunting flute sound in the beginning is.....it's a Japanese flute type instrument called a Shakuhachi. I only know because DrC informed me. When he first suggested it, I thought he was talking about a sushi dish, lol!

I hope you enjoy the song!

Farrell Jackson

DrC - All sound effects, outstanding keyboards, arrangement, mixing/mastering.

Gary Carciello - Fabulous Guitar solos and rhythm fills.

Rob Grant - Excellent Bass guitar.

Farrell Jackson - songwriter, all vocals, and rhythm guitar.

This is CDCG&J's Halloween song submission

The song lyric is loosely based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I believe most are familar with this short story written by Irving Washington and first published in 1820. There have been many cartoons, stage musicals, and film adaptation of this story over the years so I thought it would make a good Mixposure Halloween song topic and submission. Although, it was a bit challenging to tell the tale in 4 short verses. DrC, Gary, and Rob have all performed up to the excellence that The Mixposure Family has come to expect from these great musicians. I may have written the song but they all very much a part of this song's creation and together we have given it some rockin' and spooky life!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm honored that these guy's let me hang with them musically...............

Get ready for Halloween and all the spooky cool songs that are starting to pop up.......Enjoy!

Farrell Jackson

Hi all!

Looks like our quartet is finally in full swing now. We just uploaded our most recent instrumental composition Knock Him Off. Rob Grant came up with this excellent groove and asked us if we could get wild for this one. Well, this is not a type of request we leave unheeded, so we did get reasonably wild. The track features fantastic harp by Farrell and, of course, Gary's world class guitar.

Thank you Rob, Farrell and Gary for making this and a lot of other magic moments happen time and time again. Love you, guys, and treasure your friendship.

Doctor C

I KNOW TROUBLE.........Whew!! Don't we all?!?!??!?! I wanted to "Blog" about this one, because it's special to me. This is the first Carciello, Grant, Doctor C, Farrell song I have done since I had my brain surgery. I'll just say.....a lot has happened over the last 5 - 6 months and I'm glad we are working together as 4 again.......and hope to be putting out music on a regular basis....... Thanks Guys, for all of your time and hard work on this CGDCF project....

We've got a new one called My 55 Cheverolet! It's been awhile but it's a fun one!

This is a song I wrote about the feelings I get when I cruise in my 55 Chevrolet (song picture ). It's an old style rock n' roll shuffle but updated with some different chord changes and instrumentation. With Gary's excellent guitar work and DrC's great keyboard playing and production skills, it cruises down some roads less traveled for an old rock n' roll song.

As always it was a pleasure working with these guys and I had a blast belting out the vocals to this song.

We sincerely hoped our good friend and collab mate, Rob Grant, would add his precise, melodic bass playing and his ever insightful production ideas but given the current circumstances, Rob chose to sit this one out. We missed him on this song but when he gets back, watch out!

This is a bit different style compared to our other collab songs but we hope you enjoy it just the the same.

Thanks from all of us!

I’d like to thank everybody who reviewed “Rob Grant Is Back!!!” I appreciate your kind words, gentlemen. However, I would also like to clear any possible misconceptions and publicly admit that I can’t play with that speed and superhuman precision. It’s all modern technology pros and cons of which we discussed recently. Even though I didn’t use any samples and played the Czardas myself, I can’t in good faith accept the praise for my musicianship because the track was heavily edited. I can, however, accept the praise of my editing skills. LOL! So there it is – I’m a cheater. But I’m not that bad and I still love making music! LOL. I hope you guys won’t lose respect for my modest musical ventures after this confession.

I'm sorry, but I get to pick the winner and it's EVERYBODY!!! :D
I personally took Doc's thoughts as his personal feelings, from a totally musical standpoint.......and not meant to be as in a contest context. I have to say, as I listened to them all, I too was hearing so many expressed feelings......I found......EACH song hit me in a different way.....AND!!! I LOVED EACH and EVERY SONG for different reasons. The genre styles blew me away and I felt I was listeneing to an album from the world and it IS!!! I can say no less, than that I am still OVERWHELMED at the support and love shared.....SO !!!! THAT makes us all winneres and fortunate to be a part of such a GREAT Musical family.
I see no lines,to be read, anywhere in between. This whole event is unique and there's no black or white ways to respond or express your feelings. I only wish, I were on the giving side of this.......the receiving side is simply.......STUNNING !!!
I have a spot in my heart for ALL of you, here at IMS.
PLEASE!!! Each of us should take the outpour of expression in no other way than face value......WHICH !!..... to me is an overwhelming display of humans joing together and expressing support of a common goal.......GET WELL.......each of us....GET WELL !!!
Thanks you ALL......SO MUCH !!! What an AWESOME group of people we have here. PEACE !!!!
Rob
I understand that the idea behind recording songs for Rob was to express our love and support. It was never intended to be a contest. However, having listened to all 40+ songs I have to adnit that I couldn't help it and created my own Top 5 chart. In my humble opinion the winners are:
1. Farrell Jackson - Restless Mind
2. Rapster - Blues for Rob
3. IJenNeh - Leaning
4. Chrickon - Energy - for Rob
5. Soundtrapper - My Guitar Plays for Rob
I wonder how y'all's charts look like...
