Heavy and dark, yes but melodic also. This is an excellent recording Bill and Cheryl has an excellent voice. The new guitar and the whammy sound great. I don't think you over did it at all. As you said, you've left room for the song to breathe and breathe it does but with a heavy breath! No suggestions because it sounds great as is. Well done Bill!
