Halloween Tunes

By Admin, 2013-10-05
Halloween Tunes

Just a reminder everyone that the 8th Annual Holloween Song Submissions are now underway! The goal is to create a scary halloween theme type song. It can be any genre you like and vocals are not required. I look at this one also as a soundtrack submission. If someone asked you to create a song for a scary movie, what would you submit?

This is a great way to collab with your fellow Mixposure Artists so do not delay! Start getting your online band together now!!

When you upload your song to Mixposure, please use a genre of "Halloween 2013" so we can track these easily.

Good luck and have fun!

Mixposure Chatroom

By Admin, 2013-10-02

Well it looks like the chat room has bit the dust! The bad thing is the support forum for the chat software is doing the same thing. I am looking for a fix but if the software developer does not have a fix we will just buy a new one somewhere else and try and be up and running by tomorrow. I think it is related to php updates and the chat does not support the update. Good times!

We will have something in place soon and apologies about the issue!

The Showcase Of Independent Artists

Everyone - Please check out the below from Doug Dickens!

For the past two years, I have been doing a showcase of independent artists over on my Facebook Timeline ( https://www.facebook.com/douglas.dickens2 ) and Artist Page ( https://www.facebook.com/pages/Doug-Dickens/129082457174626 ). Each week I bring forward new artists that I have found on Reverbnation ( http://www.reverbnation.com/dougdickens?profile_view_source=header_icon_nav ) and post their music with a short introduction. This is not a review by any standard because I only want to share the wealth of the multitude of amazing talent that, for the most part goes unnoticed in our world of commercial junk that is forcefed to us by the corporate moguls in the entertainment business. No hard feelings here, but our world has changed with the vast power of the internet and I believe it is our time to shine. What is out there on the radio really does not compare to what we have to offer in the creative realm. I continue to do these showcases because of the networking possibilities for the artists as well as attracting new fans for their efforts. There is an event page on Facebook as well ( https://www.facebook.com/events/339479352809389/ ).

I am hoping to take this one step further here on Mixposure radio. Why here you say? Well, I really appreciate the site and the wonderful music that is already presented here as well as the fact that it is totally independent artists without the intrusion of established, mainstream talent. Not only that, but I really feel the love for music of all the artists here and as a new member here have found that there is no 'attitude' but nothing but support for us. It is also nice to have a place where we can set up our own pages. The combination of a viable radio station connected to a website for the artists and the all inclusiveness and cooperation is tantamount to the success of this venture.

I want to thank all those here who have made me feel at home and look forward to creating a radio version of the Showcase of Independent Artists right here on Mixposure. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for making me feel at home.

Mixposure Updates!

By Admin, 2013-09-20

Just wanted to do a quick update of what is going on behind the scenes at Mixposure!

In a week or so we will be putting out a new release with a bunch of changes. One of the changes I am contemplating is a new forum. Now we have the VBulletin Forum but I am tired of several things about it. The separate signups/logins being the biggest issue now. The new forum will be pretty basic and will not have categories. So in other words, there is no dedicated Intro Forum or Watercooler. This is actually kind of cool because only the most recent topics will be at the top of the forum. We will see about moving all of the posts over from the old forum but at least this way, we only have the one login and no separate signup.

I know many of you are looking for a Facebook audio embed module. This will be coming as well and hopefully in this release also. I will keep everyone posted on that one also.

More details will be coming but these are the heavy hitters. We are also looking in to a possible bug on the charts where some songs are not showing correctly.

If there are any other issues you are seeing, please let me know!

Thanks,

Todd

Gary Carciello - Mixposure.com Song Of The Week

Congratulations to Gary for having the Mixposure.com Song of the Week. Actually it was a toss up between two of Gary's songs, Cool Rockin Daddy and Small Steps  so have a listen to both and tell us which one you think should be the song of the week!

Gary is a superb guitarist as you will be able to tell by listening to the two songs!

Bio:

I start to play gtr in a age of ten...(i'm 46 now)My friend play me some vinyl records...those same bands are still my favorites, old school stuff...Led Zeppelin, Rush, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple...etc.First school bands were couple of years later...later i move into big city and got a job from local funk rock band Generators .They got already record deal and gigs around the country in good venues...things go pretty well in radio and my father and mother take my playing, hobby more serious when they see me playing in TV. Few years later i left band and focused more into spiritual things in life.I start to make music in my home, using tape recorders...drum machine and bass.It was great time., I learn to play all instruments in that period and i check all kind of music. About ten years later i start to do things professionally...playin several cover bands, i start to teach kids to play and buy more recording gear.Today my work includes mixing gig's,  recording and teaching., In ten years i have done lot's of songs and cover gigs...2007 came this internet music thing. It has give me whole new dimension of making music., Finally i start to use PC in recording.Learning curve was pretty hard.Rayon Vert has been big part of my music life lately.Still, i make own things too with Doctor C and other friends...basically i am still blues based rock player who wants to try found new dimensions of makin music.

Collab Wanted Tab

By Admin, 2013-09-06

I thought we would try this everyone. It has been suggested that we need a better way to do collaborations. What I decided to do was to just create a new tab here called Collab Wanted. In order for this to work, here is what you need to do.

1. Create a new blog with what you are looking for in a collab

2. For the Blog Category, YOU MUST USE "CollabWanted" (this is case sensitive)

Anyone can use this area so please respect it!

Is this ok?
