<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Well the Grammy's are on tonight and I am always amazed at how few people actually watch them, especially among musicians. With the death of Whitney Houston, I would suspect that the ratings will be extremely high for the awards show. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">So will anyone be watching? </span></p>

This is a tastly little Jazz number that is superb!</p><h2>Biography</h2><p>Pianist, songwriter, composer and singer Meddy Gerville is like a fresh summer breeze in a music world of rare exceptions. He is an exotic gem that has yet to be savored sufficiently by U.S. music listeners, yet he has been electrifying audiences the world over with his intricate and compelling synthesis of Jazz and Maloya, indigenous music of his native Reunion Island, for almost a decade. Meddy’s voice has been compared to Milton Nascimento and Al Jarreau, but these comparisons fail to capture the unique timbre and rhythmic intensity of his soulful and nuanced vocal approach. Likewise, his extraordinary compositional, pianistic and improvisational prowess is peerless in its conception and execution, all amply demonstrated on his U.S. debut CD, his seventh release worldwide, <strong><em>Fo Kronm La Vi</em></strong>.</p><p><em>“. . . His improvisations show a great sense of composition and development . . .”</em></p><p> —<strong>Dave Brubeck</strong></p><p>Meddy was born in St. Pierre—the largest city in southern Reunion Island—in 1974, and each step in his musical journey has led him towards his unique fusion of Jazz and Maloya, characterized by rhythms of his native island played on various homegrown instruments including ‘rouler,’ ‘kayanm’ and ‘ravan’ drums, all of which help account for his astonishing originality. From the beginning of his career—when Meddy performed with Reunion’s most popular bands, Baster, Ti Fock and Sabouk, touring in Europe, Africa and the U.S.—to the release of his latest solo outing <em>Fo Kronm la vi </em>(2011), Meddy has been spellbinding audiences around the world with the sound of his Maloya Jazz. Putting on <em>Fo Kronm La Vi </em>for an intimate evening or a sophisticated gathering is a sure bet, but seeing this talented, innovative performer live really brings home just how unique and engaging Meddy is. He has the ability to connect with his audience in a very direct and heart-felt way. ‘Artist’ is a word that is bandied about rather cavalierly these days, but in the world of music there are few as truly deserving of this honorific as Meddy Gerville.</p>

Check out the tune Roller Coaster Below.</p><p>Bio:</p><p>Born and raised French Canadian, singer/songwriter <strong>Sacha-Lee </strong>came from the small town of Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, with a population of only 2,300 residents, where no music schools, classes or vocal teacher were available. But coming from a musical family, Sacha-Lee learned mostly from listening, and singing with her parents. Sacha-Lee started singing on the stage at age 7, has been in a few different bands, and recently recorded her debut CD in Nashville TN.</p><p>Her Country/Rock style is a mixture of her upbringing roots, reflected in her singles “Roller Coaster”, and “I Got A Thing For Guys (that got a thing for me)”, but she can also bring you back in time with her Patsy Cline inspired song from her debut Album called “Why Would I Want To”, which she wrote for her loving husband.</p><p>Sacha-Lee spent a lot of time on a stage growing up, and it is apparent with her high energy and comfort on the stage. She is mesmerizing to watch, and a true entertainer. She now plays with two bands, one family based featuring mother Dana-Lee Hebert, vocals and Organ, father Rejean Hebert, vocals and on Lead, Husband Gaetan Cadieux, vocals and rhythm, and cousin, Yvon Ouellette on Lead. They play a variety of songs from Country, French, Rock and Roll, and Dance. Their hamonizing is renowned in the region.</p><p>The other band she sings in is under the name Sacha-Lee, featuring Guy Gendron on drums, Gaetan Cadieux, back up vocals and rhythm, Rock Gendron on base, Alain Cloutier, Vocals, and back up vocals, and Yvon Ouellette on Lead. They play songs form Sacha-Lee`s new EP, along with some Rock, Country and French songs.</p><p>You can see Sacha-Lee signing at different concert events, jamborees, signing at weddings, dances, and doing DJ and live performances throughout the area.</p><p>Sacha-Lee`s is presently working on her next project and will have her new songs out in October 2012, so be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for her new album. <p>Just wanted to thank <a href="http://www.mixposure.com/Earth_Songs/">Earth Songs</a> for working on Mixposure's new Android App. I think we are close to releasing it in the next week or so. I know he is waiting on some new icons from me so that might be the last holdup! </p><p>The app will allow you to hear Mix Radio on your iphone as well as link into various parts of Mixposure. What a great way to use our mobile app...in an actual phone app lol. <p>A big congratulations to <a href="http://www2.mixposure.com/Lex_Zaleta/">Lex Zaleta</a> for being our first Artist of the month for 2012. Lex has been a part of Mixposure since day one and probably has more songs than some have brain cells.
