<p>Congratulations to <a href="http://www2.mixposure.com/Christina_Crofts/">Christina Crofts</a> for having the Mixposure Song of the Week for July 22nd! This a great tune and you can check it out below.</p><div class="head-180">Biography</div><p>As one of 7 children Christina learned early in life to paddle her own canoe. Moved by music from a very early age, Christina nagged her mum into buying her an electric guitar and amp at around 14 years of age and she messed about with chords which she taught herself by watching other players on tv etc. That was the extent of it until her early 20's when she met (and later married) Steve Crofts, who was playing guitar in a local band, and who was so impressed with her natural ability on guitar that he offered to give her guitar lessons. From then on Christina played in various cover bands in Sydney until the mid 1990's when she decided to form and front her own band, a 3 peice blues/rock cover band called 'Croftstown Traffic'.</p><p>In 2007 she decided to change tactics a little and go out under her own name with a whole batch of original new tunes, and in 2008 recorded and released her debut CD Midnight Train, which continues to be very well reviewed. </p><p>Christina is working steadily in and around Sydney and is definitely shaking up the rock and blues audiences around town.</p><p><object width="400" height="450" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><param name="flashVars" value="radio_id=&song_id=28961&band_id=3382&autoplay=false&skin_color=0x000000&jamroom_url=http://www.mixposure.com&cluster_url=http://www2.mixposure.com&remoteSwf=http://www.mixposure.com/modules/n8FlashPlayer/players/j3Xap.swf&remoteWidth=400&remoteHeight=450&system_name=Mixposure.com"></param><param name="src" value="http://www.mixposure.com/modules/n8FlashPlayer/players/j3Xap.swf"></param><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><param name="pluginspage" value="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></param><param name="quality" value="high"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="flashvars" value="system_name=Mixposure.com&radio_id=&song_id=28961&band_id=3382&autoplay=false&skin_color=0x000000&cluster_url=http://www2.mixposure.com&jamroom_url=http://www.mixposure.com&remoteSwf=http://www.mixposure.com/modules/n8FlashPlayer/players/j3Xap.swf&remoteWidth=400&remoteHeight=450"></param><embed width="400" height="450" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.mixposure.com/modules/n8FlashPlayer/players/j3Xap.swf" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" flashvars="radio_id=&song_id=28961&band_id=3382&autoplay=false&skin_color=0x000000&jamroom_url=http://www.mixposure.com&cluster_url=http://www2.mixposure.com&remoteSwf=http://www.mixposure.com/modules/n8FlashPlayer/players/j3Xap.swf&remoteWidth=400&remoteHeight=450&system_name=Mixposure.com" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" quality="high" wmode="transparent" flashvars="system_name=Mixposure.com&radio_id=&song_id=28961&band_id=3382&autoplay=false&skin_color=0x000000&cluster_url=http://www2.mixposure.com&jamroom_url=http://www.mixposure.com&remoteSwf=http://www.mixposure.com/modules/n8FlashPlayer/players/j3Xap.swf&remoteWidth=400&remoteHeight=450"></embed> </object></p>

<p><span class="dateline">I read about this a few days ago and was just blown away. Some people do not see the importance of music and the effect it has on people. London will feel the effects of this from the outpouring of the music community for months to come. Truthfully they deserve the full wrath of every music lover. </span></p><p><span class="dateline">I understand the time concerns and the fact that it is also a residential area. I had a water park being built close to my last house. What did I do? I moved! When you live next to a concert venue, you must have realized when buying your house, apartment or whatever you dwell in that there was going to be loud music, traffic etc. </span></p><p><span class="dateline">Pulling the plug on Sir Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen in front of 65,000+ people I am surprised there was not a riot. If they would have told me to turn them off, I would have mentioned the fact that security was kind of light. Are you sure this is what you want to do?</span></p><p><span class="dateline">What a bunch of idiots!!!!!<br /></span></p><p><span class="dateline"><br /></span></p><p><span class="dateline"><a href="http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/07/15/springsteen-not-boss-in-london-curfew-cuts-short-gig-with-paul-mccartney/" target="_blank">Pulled from Fox News.</a><br /></span></p><p><span class="dateline">LONDON – </span>Concert organizers pulled the plug on rock stars Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney after the pair defied the sound curfew at London's Hyde Park, silencing their microphones at the tail end of the show.</p><p>Springsteen had already exceeded the 10:30 p.m. curfew by half an hour Saturday night when he welcomed McCartney on stage and the pair sang the Beatles hits "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Twist and Shout." But the microphones were turned off before they could thank the crowd, forcing them to leave the stage in silence.</p><p>A statement from concert organizer Live Nation said it was unfortunate that Springsteen's three-hour-plus performance was stopped "right at the very end," but it said that the curfew had been laid down by the authorities "in the interest of the public's health and safety."</p><p>Huge concerts in Hyde Park, a 350-acre (140-hectare) expanse of landscaped garden and parkland that abuts some of London's wealthiest neighborhoods, have increasingly caused friction between fans and the area's well-heeled residents, many of whom gripe about the late-night noise and nuisance.</p><p>With complaints on the rise, local officials have decided that as of next year, the number of concerts will be slashed from 13 to nine. Also in 2013, they plan to reduce crowd limits from 80,000 to 65,000.</p><p>Steven Van Zandt, who plays guitar in Springsteen's E-Street Band, criticized Saturday's decision as heavy-handed.</p><p>"English cops may be the only individuals left on earth that wouldn't want to hear one more from Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney!" he wrote on Twitter. "On a Saturday night! Who were we disturbing?" Finally he added: "There's no grudges to be held. Just feel bad for our great fans. ... It's some City Council stupid rule."</p><p>London's flamboyant mayor, Boris Johnson, said Sunday that the singers should have been allowed to keep going.</p><p>"It sounds to me like an excessively efficacious decision," he told London radio. "You won't get that during the Olympics. If they'd have called me, my answer would have been for them to jam in the name of the Lord!"</p><p><br /><br />Read more: <a style="color: #003399;" href="http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/07/15/springsteen-not-boss-in-london-curfew-cuts-short-gig-with-paul-mccartney/#ixzz20i0nnSTs">http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/07/15/springsteen-not-boss-in-london-curfew-cuts-short-gig-with-paul-mccartney/#ixzz20i0nnSTs</a></p>
