Okay okay. You guys won me over by the end of this track. It started off feeling very radio-ish. Nothing I hadn't heard before. But as I tuned my ear closer, convinced something was unique and not so mainstream-ified, it started to fall into place and by 1:30 I was genuinely liking the song. When the drums and guitar do that HUGE build at about 2:15, I actually LOVED the song by that point. The guitar scream, overdone, sure. BUt it fits here, and it leads in perfectly to that soundtrack-esque mega-build you get going and revin' like a train from hell by 2:30.
I will say this,though. Can't say I digged the ending as much, felt like it had the mainstream syndrome a bit, like you guys just went, "Okay, this song is BADASS, lets just end it already!" and just threw in the roars and called it a day.
4.8 stars. Rounding up to 5 stars.
I am very impressed with your transitions from soft, straightforward vocals to the power vocal. They give this song dynamic power. I also got off on the machine gun drum section at about 2:30.
