Hey Guys!

You may have noticed the main page here is a bit different. I wanted to make sure we were doing what is right for our members. Every now and then we had members posting more than 1 blog, excessively long blogs or even several songs at once.

The problem some of the existing members had was it bumped their blog or song off the main page. What I did was to removed all songs off the main page and we have the flashing banner or the link in the top right now. Once you click either one, you will get the most recent 15 plus at the bottom you will see Next Page to see the next 15. This should work out a lot better.

As for the blogs, we increased the number of blogs and reviews on the main page. We also limited the amount of text on the blogs and you can click the More Button to read the rest.

Hopefully this will help!

Dazed

In your Control Panel under "Your Site" is a link called Statistics, When you first open the page you will get Page Statistics and a numeric value. This page shows the breakdown for how many times and where your site has been accessed.

At the top you will see links for Song Stats, Video Stats, Phot Stats, Sales Stats, Radio Statio and Video Channel. Click any of these to see your stats. The Radio Station Stats also show what stations your music is on and how many plays the song has received. The Video Channel stats will only show the videos that have been uploaded to the site. We can't track YouTube or other offsite Videos.

Well I thought the Flash Players were working great. Then Asysha63 had to tell me she found a bug and squash my hopes . Good catch Asysha and thanks! I made a slight code change on the player and the links appear to be working now. I have updated the code on the artist pages.
The problem she found was that the links to the artist pages were not working. We fixed it for most sites however MySpace recently made a change disabling all links in Flash Players unless you pay them for licensing. So the links will not work there obviously! If you have posted the player on a site and the links to your artist page do not work, try testing the new code out from your artist page. If the links still do not work, just add a link below the player to your site by using the html format.
I have tested the player out on a few sites with no problems. Ashya had a problem with the new code on another site she uses. We did the workaround with the link below the player. If you have problems, please let me know. It is impossible for me to test every site that is out there so I need your help! Remember these players are more for MySpace, TagWorld, Facebook, Band WebSite etc. For forums use the individual song links supplied from your artist page!

Thanks,

Dazed

As some of you may have realized, when you upload a song the sort order is Oldest to Newest. So if you have 4 pages of music, your new song will be buried on page 4. Personally, when someone visits my page, I prefer the newer songs to appear first. In your control panel under Songs you will see Arrange Songs. From here you can highlight a song and move it up or down in the order. Just remember when you are done to click the Change Order Button at the bottom to make your changes permanent.

The new flasjh players are installed on the Projam Theme. They are also included on the offsite links that you will find on the Projam, Cobalt and Sage Themes. Anyone not on those themes, it is really suggestested you move to the newer themes! We are working out a few bugs still but they are good to use.

The Code Snippets in Projam now have the players listed if you want to use them on myspace.

**Update** I just changed the snippets on Sage and Cobalt to now have the new players. The iPod style flash player will remain on the side of the page but the snippets will be the new players.

Example

Instrumental Jam

and MySpace/Tagworld you can choose between the two... http://www.imusicscene.com/myspace.html

If you have posted one of the new players on your MySpace or Tagworld site, please post a link on here. I would like to see it!

Dazed

Just wanted to update everyone on the popup players. On the Projam Theme the links are done. On your song page, just click the i and you will see the 4 boxes. The first 2 I think I am going to remove. Those use the listeners player of choice. The bottom two will be the HTML or BBCode links for forums that do not allow HTML. I would always suggest using the HTML link if possible. Here is an example using Chrickon's song. I actually sent an email to Michael Molenda from Guitar Player Magazine to listen to this tune for his article.

Energy - for Rob.

The Sage and Cobalt themes have the links as well but I am going to play with them a bit more since I do not like how they are setup yet.

I should have new Flash Players this week so the iPod player will be replaced a nicer one with links to the site and your artist page.

Hope you guys like this feature!

Dazed

Well the last time we did the Same Song Title Madness. This time I thought we wold try something different.

Carol Douglas posted in the Forum about someone working on some lyrics she posted. I thought it might be fun to have everyone work with them and see what kind of songs we could come up with. So instead of the Same Song Title Madness, we have the Same Lyric Title Madness. As always, vocals are not required but try and make the lyrics work with the song. If you are not a singer, maybe someone will want to add vocals on your tune later!

Let's put a due date on here of May 10th but please post the songs when you are finished!

Dazed

Thanks to everyone who came to the iMS Party tonight! We knew the time would be rough for many reasons but we still managed to get 25+ people in there at one time and probably 40-50 in and out through the show. A great time was had by all and we will be doing that again soon. It was just too much fun.

We have the left the iMS Radio station streaming all 41 Songs For Rob! The link is on the menu up top! There are some fantastic songs in there so have a listen!

Again thanks to everyone who showed up! It was great getting to know you a little bit better!

We also made an update to the Projam Artist Theme. Since the music page was a single page, this presented a load problem when artist had a lot of songs. We had a code change made to make page breaks at 15 songs. This should decrease the load time on those pages!

The iMS Team!

Just wanted to let everyone know I have been working on something new for the site. It is not done yet for a couple of reasons but it can be used now. I wanted to get a popup music player for external sites much in the way that soundclick does.

We have some new flash players being made and they should be done in a week or so. I also did not have time to do the browser resize on this so that will be happening as well.

On the Projam song information link it currently has four different text areas on the left. I will most likely be dumping the first two. The last two have html and bbcode links depending on what the site you are puttung them on will allow.

Here is an example Desperate Man - with Bri-an

As you can see it pulls it up full screen at the moment in the same browser. That will be fixed soon as well as a better player!

Hope this helps!

Dazed

Update - I have made a few changes to these. I have updated the Cobalt and Sage themes with BBCode and HTML Codes you can use. They are located on your song page. Now, the one problem I have at the moment is some broken links due to apostrophes in the song titles. I am going to look for a fix but the easiest thing may be to just elimimate the apostrophes!

All players will open in new windows now but I have not solved the issue of it opening in a small popup window from a link. We should also have the new flash players later in the week.
