We do site specific tunes periodically for fun. What is cool about the site songs is they are all based around a theme. So when you have 20 artists or so writing a song, you get a variety of different styles and ideas. The end result is usually pretty cool because no two songs sound alike even though the lyrics are the same.

The lyrics can be found in the forum and please make sure you post any questions you have there so we have one communication point!

Thanks!

Dazed

Just wanted to update everyone on the Review Crew. While the poll was in favor of having one, it just seemed to stir up too much emotion in people that were against it. The Review Crew was something I thought could be a valuable tool for musicians who wanted an honest opinion of their music in order to make it better.

My suggestion for those of you who are looking for more in depth and honest feedback on your songs is to note the song information area. Also use the Spotlight Feature on your song to help dra attention to it. This way if reviewers take the the time to read your song information, they will know specifically what you are looking for.

Maybe down the road we can revisit this topic and try again. Many thanks to all who participated and my apologies for folding on the idea even though the voting was in favor of it.

Dazed

Many of us know Henry and his music. His songs are about real life, the joys and sorrows we all experience. The sweet tones of his 6 string martin fill the air in the songs he writes and his voice sings of the world we live in.

Visit his page and hear blues, folk, rock and country and some surprises too!
Congratulations to Henry, our July ARTIST OF THE MONTH!

Rick

Just wanted to pass on something new we added. As people begin to upload more and more songs, it becomes difficult when it comes to which song you really want reviewed the most. With that in mind, we have added a way for you to Feature a Song of your choosing on your music page. It will appear on your Music Page under the Feature Category with an "S" on it for Spotlight. To set this field log into your Control Panel > Click Artists in the top left > Modify Artist > go down to Select Song To Feature" and that will set the field. Whenever you have a new song you want to change, just repeast the process and set the new song.I think this will help guide us to the songs we are looking for feedback on!

Hey gang. I have a question for you. The one thing that has always come up around Mixposure is the question of how Reviews should be done. Some say the members here are too nice in their reviews.

This brings me to my question. What kind of reviews do you want? Do you want people to sugar coat your review or have an element of honesty to it? Personally, I will take honesty any day of the week. If William Hung (google him if you do not know who he is) posted a song on here, would you really say the song rocks or would you say, it needs some work? The guy can't sing to save his life. If I were to review his songs I would suggest Autotune for him.

I am getting the feeling people feel they need to be super sweet in their reviews here. That is not helping anyone grow musically. However saying "You Suck" doesn't do much either lol. It takes a lot of guts to post your music up here for thousands to hear. So I applaud those who do. I want to help the artist grow. I try and point out things that would improve the Mix or maybe the song in general. I know I always used to look at it like a managment meeting. A few positives and a few negatives.

This is the way I feel. Maybe you feel differently? So do you just want people to sing your praises or tell you areas of improvements as well?

Please let me and everyone on Mix know how you feel! Remember, any review you do not like, you can delete!

Dazed

*******POLL IS UP**********

We have added a poll to see how many are interested in a Review Crew. Please vote accordingly!!

We recently decided to feature a New Mixposure Artist Every Month. We did something like this in the past and after numerous upgrades, we kind of let it slip. I am happy to say we have added it back!

We have a lot of talented artists on Mixposure so coming up with an artist to feature is no easy task. How do you determine one over the other? If we have featured an artist before on Mixposure Radio are they excluded from this? Ahh so many questions.

However the answer for the first Mixposure Artist of the Month is a relatively new member on Mixposure named Erica. I read her introduction in the forum and had a listen to some of her music and was very impressed. I have always been a huge fan of acoustic guitar and when you add in some great vocals, you just can't miss. It was these two things that made me take notice of her music.

So Congratulations Erica for being the June 2009 Mixposure Artist of the Month!

Dazed
