I had recorded this as a mono acoustic/vocal scratch track to save the idea and to help generate some production thoughts. I liked the first take so I decided to stay with my original mono acoustic/vocal track and just use it as the base to build the song around. I wanted to keep the live vibe and dynamics as much as I could. Since they were not recorded to any type of click track it became a bit of a challenge matching the variable timing. I struggled a bit until I told myself it was just like playing with some live musicians at a gig where the tempo is subject to changes through a song. Once I got that in my head the work started to flow easier.

Some really nice lyrics on this one. I like the simplicity of the recording. It lets the lyric shine!

Great song, for me, the bass with the acoustic main theme reminds me a little of Buffalo Springfield, The chorus has a late 60s, early 70s vibe I am really digging, and the bridge is Floyd-ish, a really well constructed tune. I look forward to listening to the rest of your stuff.
Thanks Louie O!

Oh Lord Farrell this is one song that gives me the creeps. Thats a good thing. Just loving that Pink Floyd vibe the music gives and the lyrics are haunting. Out Standing Brother.

Farrell this has such a classic rock taste that it takes me back to those days that began to form my music intelligence.
I get an early Pink Floyd feel from your lyrics that I love, and your lead break.... awesome

Just some new and old songs that I've written over the years and to date plus some collaborated songs as well.
I've had fun with this music stuff most of my life and still do. I gigged in a band for 35 years but now I'm just a home studio hack. Made a few bucks from gigging but I guess the real pay out is the numerous stories and memories from the road.
For a while I ran a small project studio at my place for soloists, duos, and the occasional full band. I gained a lot of recording experience doing that. It was definitely an experience. These days it's just me having fun in the studio. I try this and that with songwriting and recording. Once in a while it works. If I come up with something decent which I think sounds ok, I'll post it up.
I like acoustic guitars intermingled with electrics supported with melodic vocals and backed by harmonies. Music has been an enjoyable part of my life. It has allowed some satisfying and personal expressions to come forward. I'm grateful for those moments. Thanks for visiting and if you have the time, hit the play button to hear some my musings.
